Assal Pastry: Your Premier Destination for Custom Cakes and Delectable Desserts

Been here multiple times and always loved it. I often get the zoolmia for large friends and family gatherings and they taste great - very sweet but also very similar to Indian jalebi. The folks who run the shop have always been very friendly. The items are all reasonably priced. Went most recently to get something for Mother's Day and they had a bunch of nice looking gift boxes. They're happy to tell you what's in each product and help you pick something for your taste, like if you want more snacky, less sweet. Parking lot gets crowded on weekends and I also find that the parking spaces are very tight there.

Cakes: 3 stars. If you like heavy cream and thin layers of cakes this might work for you. Not sweet at all. Cookies: 10 stars !! I tried the chickpea cookies and they are simply delicious. They literally melt in your mouth!! Soooo good.

I ordered a fruit cake for my wife's birthday. We got the small square one with banana and pineapple filling. The cake is so soft and the fillings are extremely tasty. There was a message on the table to keep the cake in refrigerator as soon as possible and then finish it in 2 days because they don't use any preservatives. This is a go to place for any birthdays and other functions. It is costly compare to a similar size cake from Ralph or Albertson. But each penny worth it. Their website are old and not have much options to see and visualize it before going there. I hope they fix it to get more customers.

Asal Pastry is, without a doubt, the best bakery in Irvine. The Halva was sweet and soft, melting right in my mouth, and the pastries were light, flaky, and perfect. If you're looking for unique Persian sweets, this is the place to go.

This place has been around since I’ve been a kid and after having been away for a while, it’s nice to see that it still stands despite all of the new renovations that plaza is going through. The prices are insanely affordable. I don’t know how they maintain these prices. The treats taste perfect. Might be on the sweeter side for some palates, but I love it. I hope they continue to stay in business for many years to come.

Very nice bakery. I ordered fruit cake The cake was light on stomach , yummy and not sugar laden . Everything balanced and fresh cake. Few of my guests had the cake twice during the birthday party. Also, my friends asked another day which bakery I brought the cake from :) This automatically explains if the cake was really gud. So, this place is worth a try. I give it all star.

Wow. So good. We almost got one of everything simply because it looked so good and we were so glad we did because everything we got was amazing. We came in with a local who recommended a few specifics but everything we had was so good. Definitely recommend and will definitely be back!
